ABOUT THE ASSOCIATION

Turku Green Youth and Students (hereinafter “the association”) is a political youth, student, and civic organization that serves as both a local association of the Green Youth and Students and a member organization of the Turku Greens. The association’s activities are characterized by respect for the environment, equality, and openness. Although the association is based in Turku, it also serves as a hub for engagement and advocacy for young people with Green-leaning values who live or reside in the Southwest Finland region.

Operation

We actively participate in social debate and decision-making at the municipal, regional and national level, both within the party and in civil society. We act as a way for the member to participate in the city’s decision-making, we make statements on political issues concerning Turku and its region, and we also participate in the wider social debate with opinion pieces and publications. In addition, our association organizes events, participates in the organization of elections and represents the region in Green youth events, such as the annual union meeting.

Events

The association’s events are open to everyone interested, and information about them is shared through various channels, including social media! We organize, for example, discussion sessions and more informal activities. We also participate in a wide range of student and public events, and collaborate extensively with other Green associations and political entities. You can find upcoming events in the event calendar on the front page of our website.

Our events follow the principles of a safer space and are held in accessible venues. We aim to host events on average 2–3 times a month, excluding a break during the summer.
