“”Hi! I’m Amalia, a 19-year-old parliamentary election candidate from Turku. I graduated from high school last spring and am currently studying psychology through open university. Outside of politics, I go to the gym, read and write, and spend time with my friends and family.”

Amalia’s key themes

  • Promoting and ensuring mental and physical well-being for all.
  • Ensuring free education and abolishing the quota for first-time applicants.
  • Improving access to low-threshold mental health services.

Aliisa Wahlsten, 30

“Hi! I’m Aliisa, newly graduated biologist, a synchronized skating coach, and a regional and city councillor from Turku. I got involved in politics because I saw too many people around me struggling with mental health challenges. I am running for the Parliament because I want to build a society where everyone has the chance to find their own path and receive support when they need it — a society where education and science are among Finland’s core strengths. Furthermore, I want to accelerate efforts to protect nature, as the well-being of people and the well-being of nature go hand in hand. Send me a message, and let’s chat more!”

Aliisa’s key themes

  • A healthy life with prevention.
  • A good future for children and yound people.
  • The richness of science and nature.

Selinä’s key themes

  • A strong welfare state must be secured so that everyone receives help and support when they need it.
  • Homelessness must be brought to an end, and a truly sufficient livelihood must be guaranteed for all through a basic income.
  • Ensuring a habitable planet in every decision is a fundamental requirement that cannot be bypassed.
  • The education system must dismantle inequality and be free of charge at all levels; furthermore, the voices of young people themselves must be heard in decision-making.
